Grace Margarita is a London-based oil painter. Her intuitive practice is inspired by lunar cycles, the flow of Qi, and the subtle energies that shape our internal and external worlds. This is through a meditative process of layered oil painting, which she refers to as ‘veil work’. Her paintings act as portals: soft, translucent fields of colour that invite viewers into a sacred space. Each piece is an exploration of polarity: light and shadow, expansion and contraction, the seen and the unseen. In her work, the canvas becomes a spirit, reflecting the belief that every living being is a microcosm of the macrocosm.
Grace’s artistic language is shaped by a family full of talented artists, plus a formal background in art history. She holds both a BA and MA from The Courtauld Institute of Art, and has extensive experience working as a curator and archivist in London galleries and museums. She has just started a Painting MA at the Royal College of Art and will graduate in 2027.
